Vintage gossip bench

1940's Bow Front Buffet painted with ASCP. Someone was throwing this away!!!!
I read on another blog about using fine steel wool to give your paint dimension, it works very well.

I realized that some of my pieces are like children. You work on them, work on them some more, and then a little more to get it just right. That is how I felt about this corner china cabinet. But, I couldn't have hand picked a better home for it. She had just moved from TN to NJ, which I had done a year ago. She knew the town where I came from (which is very small) and we did what southerns do.......do you know so and so? Happy she loved the piece and was very excited to put it in her new home.

FANCIFUL - FRIDAY

You have to look at this and smile, its a feel good piece. Reminds me of melting sherbet ice cream. My inspiration for this came from Shizzle Design's- Whimsical Patchwork Painted Dresser. I am in love with their work.
I started out painting the whole thing in  Louis Blue but those awesome french scroll legs screamed for something more.  So any paint I found laying around was used. I didn't follow any particular method, kind-of made it up as I went along. Painted, sanded, and waxed and repeated.

So, I have decided to join the blogging world! I love the exchange of thoughts and ideas, and have been inspired by so many of them. This is one of them.

Yes, I had to try it too, and to my surprise it was not as hard as it looks. Now I'm hooked. Chalk Paint is as awesome as they say. True it is a little pricey but worth it. I ordered my chalk paint from the purple painted lady, she has the step by step instruction on this project.
